This eco-friendly and stylish Hotel Resort Tofo Mar is situated only 12 steps away from the warm ocean with crystal blue water and approximately 25 km away from Inhambane.
It is surrounded by a beautiful almost dreamlike- nature including all its amazing creatures on land (such as many different birds) and in the water (eg. Giant Manta's or Whale Sharks).
The rooms vary from standard rooms with a sunset view, to standard sea view rooms, deluxe double rooms and last but not least suites with sea view.
The in house cuisine restaurant for Hotel Tofo Mar is set right on the main beach of Tofo.
It operates all day long offering regional dishes and the beach bar with a view over the entire bay provides entertainment on the veranda of the hotel.
One is given the opportunity to have dinner only 30m from the Indian Ocean with a outstanding view of the beautiful turquoise bay after a nice relaxing day on the beach or exploring the local culture, scenery or wildlife.

The nearest airport is situated in Inhambane and road transfers can easily be arranged by the guesthouse to and from the Airport.
Casa do Capitao is a recent addition to the accommodation offering in Inhambane. The Hotel has a very modern and upmarket feel to it and all modern luxuries are catered for. Situated in a preferred location, that was once the location of the Port Captain’s house, the hotel is surrounded by the rustic colonial architecture of the town of Inhambane in which a mixture of old world Portuguese and Muslim culture influences can be found.
The Hotel features 24 double en suite rooms that extend along the shore facing out across the lagoon, all tastefully decorated in natural fabrics and woods. A scenic restaurant, conference facilities, swimming pool and deck are available to clients. The hotel can also assist with the arrangement of various town tours, boat charters and other activities in the area. For guests that wish to spend some time at the beach, complimentary shuttles run between Casa do Capitao and Barra Beach Club, a sister property of Casa do Capitao situated on the renowned Barra beach approximately 30 minutes from Inhambane town.

Flamingo Bay is a unique water lodge on the Barra Peninsula which is located in a pristine estuary running parallel to Barra beach. While Flamingo Bay might not be located on the beach, it offers a peaceful environment, and crystal clear waters in which the chalets stand on stilts. When the tide is out one can stroll in the sand left by the estuary’s tidal flow and watch the crabs scuttle by.
Accommodation is in Water Chalets, built on stilts and that accommodate a maximum of two people, are fully airconditioned with mosquito nets, a lounger, patio with chairs, outside and inside shower. From the decking surrounding the lodge or from your own balcony, you can watch the fish and crabs swimming in the estuary, or snorkel straight from your chalet to join them in their underwater world during high tide.
Flamino Bay is the sister property of Barra Lodge and all activities can be done from there.
What is Special?
This Lodge is a great option for price sensitive Honeymooners that would like to enjoy a unique destination but cannot afford an island lodge. A kayak through the mangrove forest at Flamingo is a enjoyable activity with great scenery and bird life.
Note no children under 12 allowed. During low tide there is no water under the chalets at the Lodge is built in a tidal estuary - the water is only under the Chalets at hight tide.

Barra Beach Club is one of the newest editions to the accommodation offering in Inhambane. Situated on the renowned Barra beach, the lodge has direct access to the white sandy beach and popular water sport activities, such as scuba diving and fishing which the Inhambane / Tofo area is renowned for, can be arranged.
Guests can choose from 3 different room types - deluxe lodge rooms, deluxe ocean villas and a romantic presidential suite - 12 in total. The deluxe ocean villas (8) are elegantly decorated en suite rooms with a glimpse of the sunrise channel and the magical sun as it sets over the nearby mangroves. The three new villas are spacious with beautiful gardens and in close proximity to the beach.
The dining venue offers an extensive menu and wine selection and private dinners on the beach can be arranged for a romantic evening. Clients may choose to relax on the beach whilst ordering drinks from the Beach Bar or alternatively make use of the Lodge’s swimming pool to cool off in from the day’s heat.

Blue Footprints Eco Lodge is situated on a secluded private beach in the Tofo Barra area of Inhambane. The lodge has been specifically designed to ensure that from the bar, restaurant, lounge, pool and guest villas spectacular views of the Indian Ocean can be enjoyed. The Lodge is remotely situated and therefore offers it guests a pristine stretch of beach that is not over crowded with holiday makers.
Accommodation at Blue Footprints Eco Lodge is limited to only 5 villas, each boasting spectacular views over the ocean. The villas are a mix or rustic and luxury elements, set in the dune so as to provide privacy and solitude. The villas all feature en suite facilities (shower only), with a outside deck, day bed and outdoor shower. Note that as this is an eco lodge there are no air conditioning in the villas, instead they are cooled by the sea breeze that blows in off the Indian Ocean. All power to the lodge is supplied by solar energy.
Guests are treated to the unique Mozambique flavours at meals times in the restaurant. Fresh produce and seafood is carefully selected from local suppliers and fishermen to ensure a varied, delicious and memorable dining experience at the lodge.
The scuba diving in the Barra / Tofo area is truly spectacular and especially known for it whale shark and manta rays sightings that can be enjoyed almost all year round. There is also some amazing research projects happening in the area on these species. Guests can also expect to see Humpback whales in the area from June to October. Although there is no scuba centre at the lodge, the team can make arrangements with nearby dive centres on behalf of clients.
