Blue Footprints Eco Lodge and Dive Centreis situated on a secluded private beach in the Tofo Barra area of Inhambane. The lodge has been specifically designed to ensure that from the bar, restaurant, lounge, pool and guest villas spectacular views of the Indian Ocean can be enjoyed.  The Lodge is remotely situated and therefore offers it guests a pristine stretch of beach that is not over crowded with holiday makers.

Accommodation at Blue Footprints Eco Lodge is limited to only 5 villas, each boasting spectacular views over the ocean.  The villas are a mix or rustic and luxury elements, set in the dune so as to provide privacy and solitude.  The villas all feature en suite facilities (shower only), with a outside deck, day bed and outdoor shower.  Note that as this is an eco lodge there are no air conditioning in the villas, instead they are cooled by the sea breeze that blows in off the Indian Ocean. All power to the lodge is supplied by solar energy.

Guests are treated to the unique Mozambique flavours at meals times in the restaurant.  Fresh produce and seafood is carefully selected from  local suppliers and fishermen to ensure a varied, delicious and memorable dining experience at the lodge. 

The scuba diving in the Barra / Tofo area is truly spectacular and especially known for it whale shark and manta rays sightings that can be enjoyed almost all year round.  There is also some amazing research projects happening in the area on these species.  Guests can also expect to see Humpback whales in the area from June to October. 

The Dive Centre at Blue Footprints Eco Lodge and Dive Centre offers staff that are certified instructors in PADI, SHARKLIFE and DAN.  All levels of training are offered for beginners to professionals.  The team strive to offer quality diving courses and keep class sizes small to ensure personalized training and a great overall experience.  The Director of Mozambique Voyages has dived with the team before and rates the experience offered very high!

Access:

The closest airport is the Inhambane Airport.  Airport transfers can be arranged for guests.  Note that the Lodge is remotely situated on a sand road and therefore only accessible with a 4x4 vehicle.  4x4 self drive guests can reach the Lodge on their own with directions given.
