General:

Dunes de Dovela Eco Lodge is nestled in between the dunes and forest vegetation, overlooking the Indian Ocean.  

Remotely situated on 80 hectares of pristine land, the lodge is ideal for guests that want to break away from the hustle and bustle and spend their days relaxing, walking along shady paths through the coastal forest, explore the tidal pools or kayak on the inland lake. 

Accommodation options range from comfortable bungalows, with en suite facilities and views over the ocean from a private terrace, to a bush camp where tents on wooden platforms are hidden away amongst the natural vegetation for those that would like to get up close to the natural beauty of the coastal forest.

The cuisine is a mixture of French recipes infused with local Mozambique flavours.  Fresh seafood and locally produced fruits and vegetables are the highlight of the healthy and delicious cuisine on offer. 

Activities at the lodge include whale watching from the lodge in the months of June to October.  Ocean Safaris and scuba diving can be arranged at a neighbouring lodge or alternatively clients can take one of the two kayaks for a leisurely kayak on the inland lake. 

The dune forest surrounding Dunes de Dovela Eco Lodge is home to a rich variety of bird life and therefore a good stop over for keen birders.

Access:

The Lodge is accesible by 4x4 vehicles only.  Secure parking and transfers can be arranged for self drive guests in normal sedan vehicles.  The closest airport is at Inhambane and airport transfers can be arranged to the lodge (approximately 1.5 hour transfer).
