The Mozambique Ministry of Tourism and the Gorongosa Restoration Project will soon be selecting projects to start tourism developments in designated areas throughout the Park.  The new developments will have to adhere to the Park's high ecological standards ensuring “that the ecosystem will be preserved and that a sustainable tourism industry will be established”.    The tourism developments include luxury tented camps, fly camps and lodges.  The new developments are part of Gorongosa's long term goal to develop sustainable tourism that benefits not only the eco-systems in the Park, but also the surrounding communities through job creation and training.
